What is Dynamic Infantry Combat?
Dynamic Infantry Combat is a narrative driven skirmish miniatures game for any type of small scale warfare from the age of modern cartridge firearms up to five minutes into the future. The core system is designed simplistic in mind without losing any realism that you might want to depict with your force and scenarios. It emphasizes the infantry role in modern conflicts, focusing on small scale engagements, hybrid conflicts and low-intensity operations.
Core Concepts
Each player commands a force of 6 or more models in a game of Dynamic Infantry Combat ranging from 5 different Force Qualities (FQ). Players activate 1- 4 models per available order. Models have always 2 Action Points (AP) available per turn. Those Actions can vary from basic movement to attacks such as shooting or throwing a grenade.
Additionally, models can gain or loose Combat Readiness (CR) in form of Combat Alertness (CA) and Combat Stress (CS) during play. Combat Alertness can be used for additional CR-Actions like overwatch, aim or extra movement.
There is no need to be aware of squad coherency - each model can move freely.
There are no range or distance limitations for enganging enemy models.
There are no complex chained up modifiers to calculate and remember.
What do I need to play?
- 6+ individual based miniatures per side (WYSIWYG)
- 2’x2’ , 3’x3‘ or 4’x4’ gaming area
- Generous model terrain and scatter to fill out the table to break line of sight. (buy here)
- Some sort of a initiative token for players like a military patch, coin, big token, or similar.
- Six D6 per player - 2 order dice, 3 combat dice and 1 dice for special mechanics
- 1x green and 1x red 10mm or other small size D6 per model for Combat Readiness (CR)
- Ruler or tape measure with inches and the official XS-Template (download link soon!)
- A few 25mm tokens or bases for grenades and explosive ammunition to mark target spots on the table.
- 2 generic tokens to place next to models - 1 for activation / 1 for emplacement
Where do I get the full rule book?
Currently the rules are still being developed and in version 0.4 beta. The core rules and backbone of Dynamic Infantry Combat is already in a full playable state and are available to downloaded as a PDF for free here in English for you to try out for yourself.

and more
Miniature, scale and setting agnostic!
You can play Dynamic Infantry Combat with any brand of models you have, want or prefer for your games - fully miniature agnostic, as long as they are individually based you should be good to go!
We designed it primarily with 28mm and 32mm miniatures on 20mm or 25mm bases in mind , but already play tested it with up to 10mm (1:160) individually based miniatures without any problems. Only by doing a minor adjustment with the measuring distances by switching inches for centimeters. We recommend the switch starting from 15mm (1:100) scale downwards.
Even a very small test with 54mm (1:35) based miniatures on 30mm bases worked great, though you of course get drastically limited with your available play area and table size with bigger scales.
Can I do 6mm or even 3mm scale? - "Yes" :) - stay tuned!
- World war one aka. the Great war? - For sure!
- World war two ? - Without a doubt!
- Vietnam war? - Absolutely!
- Wild west cowboy inspired games? - Viable!
- Lore accurate space marines? - Doable! (we have fantasized about some scenarios already!)
After the main rules are all tested and ready we want to focus on releasing other major periods of interest with the fitting period and theater accurate weapon list with the necessary adjustments, as well as force building suggestions and lists*
